Applications
This page gathers together articles on applications of theory (see links below), aiming to demonstrate how the theory informs development of current and planned applications, as well as outlining what photochemists of the future (maybe you!) have to work on to optimise and develop current ideas. Some background to this context is provided on Prof. P. V. Kamat’s website (see links).

Of the top ten problems facing humanity over the next fifty years, photochemistry has a direct and immediate role to play in at least four: Energy, water, environment and disease. It’s also a philosophical debate on the impact of increasing solar energy usage on democracy and poverty. In the application section we’ll look at the role photochemistry has in each of these four areas, along with others.
